He has been the key songwriter of many of British boy band Blue�s super hits like All Rise, Fly By and One Love.
He has been to India once in 2003 and performed at Mumbai and Bangalore. �The response of Indian music lovers to my performance at both the cities was amazing,� he recollects in a telephonic interview with this website's newspaper.
At that time, he was in India as a member of Blue. But now, Simon Webbe will be in India for the first time as a solo artist to promote his second solo album Grace.
�I�m very eager to see my fans in India,� he reveals. Simon is being brought to India by Vh1, the international music and lifestyle channel, as part of its Vh1 handpicked property focusing on pop acts.
He will perform live at Bottles and Chimney in Hyderabad on June 27, Hard Rock Cafe in Mumbai on June 29 and wind up his tour with a performance in Delhi on June 30.
As a solo artist, Simon�s debut single Lay Your Hands garnered massive radio airplay by getting featured on the UK charts at No 4 in August 2006 and remaining in the Top 10 for three weeks.
Sanctuary, his debut solo album featured him as a softer and more soulful singer. Today, Simon is considered one of the biggest pop stars in the UK as well as Asia.
�Among all the numbers in Grace, I like My Soul Pleads For You the most. It�s a song which has a typical Caribbean swing to it,� he says.
Apart from his musical career, Simon is pursuing his talents as an actor too. He has acted in two movies - The Truth About Love and Rolling With The Nines.
�Talks are on for my third movie titled Dead Man Running. I haven�t taken a decision yet to take it up or not,� he says.
