THE cast of Hollyoaks took a break from filming to get behind the the Mirror's Hope not Hate campaign against racism.
Guy Burnett, who plays Craig Dean, said: "Racism needs to be stamped out completely. Its unacceptable."
The cast, welcoming the campaign bus on the set of the soap in Liverpool, spoke of the city's horror at the murder of black pupil Anthony Walker in 2005.
James McKenna, who plays Jack Osbourne, said: "The city was devastated. You can't put it into words."
Chris Fountain (Justin Burton) and Clare Cooper (Jacqui McQueen) also signed our Hope not Hate flag.
Yesterday, the bus travelled to Dudley where World's Strongest Man contestant Adrian "Big Ade" Rollinson lent pulling power - by hauling the bus through town.
He said: "If someone wants to train with me, I don't care what colour you are, you're part of our team."
Then it was on to Birmingham for a food festival where Simon Webbe turned out in support. The singer, who moved to the city when young, said: "We were one of the only black families. I didn't really know I was black until I was older. Colour didn't matter - that's how my mum brought me up."
The bus is halfway through its two-week UK tour.
